You Are Not Invisible | #NCOW 2025

I've known people who have served in this profession, and we all realize there is far more to such a career than first meets the eye. While many who serve behind the Thin Silver Line say little, almost hesitating to even acknowledge what they do, I believe the work of those in this occupation should be honored and recognized.

There is a great weight - a burden, almost - for individuals who carry a load in silence; an isolation and feeling of invisibility, and unfortunately we as a society often treat one another with indifference, or in a thoughtless manner. Maybe not on purpose, but there is a need to recognize all who serve and protect.


Thank you, Correctional Officers. We appreciate your work and are grateful to those who go behind the gates every day.
