Women Behind the Badge: National Police Woman's Day

September 12th: it's National Police Woman Day! Today we honor the work carried out by female officers, sheriff's deputies, special agents, Probation & Parole Officers, and all other areas of law enforcement. Thank you for choosing to serve, protect and make a difference in the world!

Observed each year on September 12th, if you see a female LEO today, please take the time to say "thank you".

We would also like to give a big shout-out of appreciation to those who launched their careers decades ago, when it wasn't widely accepted for females to serve in law enforcement. I think it's especially important to recognize the women who set out to change stereotypes and break down barriers, because their courage and sacrifices have set an example for countless young women entering this type of career. I've met a few retired LEO who were the first females to serve in a department and we thank you for setting an example with your service.

Thank you to all the mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, wives and incredible women everywhere for what you do! Stay safe and know you are respected and appreciated every day.

Sincerely,
