“Thank A Police Officer Day on Delmarva” FAQ & Info

What is this upcoming date all about? "Thank A Police Officer Day" is a nationally observed occasion, created to show appreciation to law enforcement on the 3rd Saturday in September. Established in 2012 by the Whole Truth Project, this is the fifth year our volunteers will be visiting and thanking agencies across the Delmarva Peninsula. We invite area residents, community organizations and local businesses to join us and help us turn Delmarva Blue!

Consider “adopting” a local department, have lunch or dinner delivered to a nearby agency, display a blue light, flag or ribbon at your home or business and join our online event. For more suggestions, take a look at our listing of "25 Ways To Get Involved". We offer printable images, ideas for participating, along with custom graphics for individual departments (free to download). Local leaders and elected officials are encouraged to share information about September 19th on social media, recognize Thank A Police Officer Day with a proclamation for their town or city, and ask residents to help observe this event.

We can't think of a better time than now to thank the men and women who contribute so much to our community. For more information please contact us via email (delmarvablue@gmail.com) or message through our Facebook page. Connect with us on Twitter and Instagram as well!

Delmarva Supports Law Enforcement was created to recognize  police officers of Delmarva (fourteen counties across three states); along with advocating respect for all who serve.
