Delmarva Law Enforcement | News and Notes September 2020

Our main focus is on law enforcement agencies across the Delmarva Peninsula, a unique area of the Mid-Atlantic which spans fourteen counties across three states, Delaware and the eastern shore portions of Maryland and Virginia.


Our "news & notes" is a semi-monthly roundup of articles of interest, news items and recent events from our local area. In addition we often include links and stories from other states which we felt were important to share.


• 9/17/20 "Lewes Police Chief announces the passing of K9 Blue, who began his service to the citizens of the City of Lewes in March of 2013. In his seven years of service, Blue has made dozens of criminal apprehensions over the years, located illegal drugs, and seized thousands of dollars in suspected drug-related money". Lewes K-9 Officer Passes Away After Seven Years Of Service via First State Update


• 9/15/20 "Students and staff of the Bayview Baptist Church delivered snack baskets personalized with handwritten letters to the Delmar Police Department". Delmar students showing appreciation to local police officers via WMDT


• 9/15/20 "On Monday, the Ocean City Police Department took to Facebook to thank these two members of the Ocean City Surf Club for paying them a visit. The officers say the two brought gifts like Dunkin Donuts gift cards for the department".  OC Police thank local Surf Club members for visit, gift cards via WMDT

• 9/3/20  "Georgetown held the annual wreath-laying ceremony in remembrance of Patrolman Chad Spicer Sept. 1 on The Circle. /Spicer was killed in the line of duty Sept. 1, 2009". Georgetown /honors Chad Spicer with wreath-laying ceremony via the Cape Gazette

• 9/15/20 Nonprofit organization "Your Life Matters Indy" raised thousands of dollars for billboards in the city of Indianapolis. “For our police officers out there as well, we want them to know that we care about you. This is a difficult job that is being made more difficult by segments of our populations as well as politicians". Five ‘Back the Blue’ billboards across Indianapolis support law enforcement WISHTV


• 9/15/20 Rockwall, TX: We think these folks have the right idea, hoisting the area's largest Thin Blue Line flag at Ekin Nutrition


• 9/14/20 Liberty, TX:  Houses in the Travis Park subdivision in Liberty were glowing with blue lights on Friday night as a show of support for law enforcement. Organized by Travis Park resident Charlotte Hight, the lighting event was planned to coincide with 9/11 and included a parade of police cruisers and fire trucks.
