Today We Honor The Courageous Men and Women in Blue

As the sun rises this morning on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2021, let us reflect upon and acknowledge the many challenges our officers face.

From the divided landscape of society to the everyday stress of rotating shifts, from the indifference shown by many to the holidays spent away from family, from the continual battle against evil to the logistical challenges presented by lack of funding and limited resources.......through ALL THIS, the brave men and women of law enforcement continue to go forth and inspire others each day. Despite adversity and struggles which may overwhelm an average soul, these heroes rise each morning to strive for a better neighborhood and world. Our words can never begin to repay them for the sacrifices made, and yet we can take steps to create a mindset and attitude of respect.

On this Saturday, let us look within our hearts and find ways to show our gratitude, convey messages of appreciation and change a culture of apathy towards those who take up the badge each day. Write a note to someone today. Have dinner sent to a local department. Go out and place blue ribbons on your home or display thanks on a sign at your business. Small actions can change lives and now more than ever, we must acknowledge those who protect and defend our neighborhoods.

Thank you to our police officers and may God watch over you each and every day. We honor your commitment and dedication and most sincerely wish you a happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Delmarva Supports Law Enforcement was established to recognize police officers of Delmarva (Delaware and the eastern shore areas of Maryland and Virginia), along with advocating respect for all who serve.
