Good morning! We hope you enjoyed a happy and healthy holiday season and are ready to kick off the new year. First up in 2021 is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, observed on Saturday, January 9th. To all of our nation's law enforcement officers, we thank you!
The people who pick up a badge each morning and and go to work to protect you and your family are special individuals - ones who have chosen this particular line of work which not many can do. We believe these folks deserve respect and appreciation far more than is shown by our society, so please, make the effort to show appreciation to our cops this week. "On January 9th, 2021, partnering organizations in support of law enforcement officers nationwide will promote National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.). In light of recent negativity directed toward law enforcement nationally, there is a need to show law enforcement officers that our citizens recognize the difficult and sometimes impossible career they have chosen, in public service to us all.
On January 9th of each year, we will call our nation’s citizens to action in support of law enforcement. Those citizens who appreciate law enforcement and are discouraged about the negative attention being given to law enforcement are encouraged to take time on January 9th to show their support. As you might have expected, almost all events which normally take place this time of year have been cancelled. We are disappointed but believe our citizens should not avoid honoring local officers and expressing their appreciation in other ways, such as having lunch delivered this week, sending a card, changing outdoor signage at your business location to thank law enforcement, etc.
