Trooper Groner was killed in an accident at Routes 392 and 313 near Hurlock while responding to a call. His vehicle was struck by a vehicle, spun around, and struck by a third oncoming vehicle. Trooper Groner had been with the agency for almost five years. Source: ODMP.
October 2016 |Trooper Groner remembered: Groner, Mark P. - Trooper First Class, 24 years old, 4 years and 7 months of service from February 24, 1988 to October 1, 1992. Trooper First Class Groner was responding to a personal injury accident when another vehicle pulled into an intersection and sideswiped him. He spun out of control and collided with another vehicle coming in the opposite direction. He was killed instantly.
