To Our Police Officers: Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2020

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and to merely say "thank you" hardly seems like enough. After all, how can one really acknowledge everything you do? Of course, you would shrug off any compliments or mentions like this, perhaps smile or say "it's just the job", but we realize how many sacrifices are made.....

• Thank you to all who serve, for leaving your homes each morning, saying goodbye to your families and heading out to protect a world which often is far less appreciative than it should be,

• Thank you for pausing to speak to a child in a fast food restaurant who is in awe at seeing a real hero up close,

• Thank you for letting hurtful comments and the poor behavior of many of our citizens roll off you, because your commitment to serving and protecting is greater than that,

• Thank you for being the strong and dedicated individuals who go out and do this job, because despite the criticism and judgement of so many others, deep down you know it's easy it is for people to speak when they can't actually do what you are,

• Thank you for your loyalty to the community where you live; dedication to uphold what is right; strength when protecting the people of your state and county,

• Thank you for the kindness you show everyday to our young people, because just maybe they needed a role model in their life and there you were to make a difference,

• Thank you for the countless actions you carry out each and every day in watching over us all, remaining vigilant and caring so much for people you don't even know.

Delmarva Supports Law Enforcement was established to honor police agencies across the Delmarva (Delaware and the eastern shore areas of Maryland and Virginia);  advocating respect for all who serve.
