Notes and Events Regarding Law Enforcement on Delmarva (June 12th, 2020)

• Reminder: National Day of Prayer for Law Enforcement Officers is Friday, June 19th. Please let us know if your church, town or neighborhood will be planning an event. See our blog post here.


• Date Change: for the Jeepers Back the Blue event. Originally scheduled for May, this will now take place from September 11th at 12 PM – through September 12th at 6 PM. • Date Change: The 48th Annual Camp Barnes Stock Car Race, originally taking place on July 8th, has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 3rd. Times and updated information will be posted on the Camp Barnes Facebook page.

• Police Week 2020: A reproduction of Patrolman Wallace A. Melson’s vehicle was on display at the Ocean View Police Department for Law Enforcement Appreciation Week. See the post from the Town of Ocean View here.



• 1st Responder Conference to be held September 10th & 11th, 2020 in Ocean City, Maryland. Hosted by 1st Responder Conferences & Blue H.E.L.P, co-hosted by Behind the Line, Inc. and Ocean City Police Department. This training is for all 1st responders, police, fire, military/veterans, corrections, dispatchers, chaplains, retired 1st responders, spouses, professional staff, clinicians, spouses and all who work in the public safety field. 1st Responder Conferences presents a multi-faceted two-day seminar and networking event for improving the mental health and wellness of our first responders.
