November 25th, 2020: How we've navigated this year, weathered the ups and downs and made it to the day before Thanksgiving, simply amazes me. I cannot believe tomorrow is "Turkey Day", finally here in the midst of our rapidly changing environment!

Thank A Police Officer Day is September 19th, 2020

I first found out about Thank A Police Officer Day in 2014, before this page existed and before I'd found all of you. Participating with just a small scale effort was eye-opening and the following September a small but dedicated group of citizens, volunteers and local residents joined forces to observe the date.

Farewell Sgt. Charles “Chip” Green, Ocean City Police Department (May 20th, 2020)

I knew I would be disappointed to miss the service allowing our community to say goodbye to a friend; a respected and beloved brother; a protector in blue. Certainly could not have predicted just how touching and emotional the photos and comments from yesterday would be; heartbroken I was unable to be there but grateful to see so many come out to honor Sgt. Green.

Remembering Sgt. Charles “Chip” Green, Ocean City Police Department

I take too many pictures at events; when I'm out around town or visiting the boardwalk. That's what people tell me and with hundreds of pending images to sort through at all times, it's not something I can really argue with....until that day I'm searching my files and realize I didn't take nearly enough.

National Correctional Officers Week May 2020

This week, we pause to honor our correctional officers throughout the nation and to say, "thank you". These men and women face many different risks in their daily routines, much of which goes unseen by the public and thus often not adequately recognized. The stress of an workday spent inside of a locked building, an environment of close quarters and the continual dangers which officers must always be on alert for, create not merely a "tough job" but one which takes a toll on the human spirit.

January 18th, 2020 | Farewell, Officer Spencer Wiersberg

Today, as we prepare to say goodbye to Officer Spencer Wiersberg, I tried to think of some words to say. It seemed fitting to acknowledge some of the beautiful things which have been written about him, reflect perhaps on his charisma and spirit, or try to offer some phrases or a quote of comfort for the family.

To Our Police Officers: Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2020

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and to merely say "thank you" hardly seems like enough. After all, how can one really acknowledge everything you do? Of course, you would shrug off any compliments or mentions like this, perhaps smile or say "it's just the job", but we realize how many sacrifices are made.....

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2020

I am both grateful and overwhelmed tonight while taking a look at my saved Google searches for news stories and articles relating to January 9th. To be honest, here on Delmarva I've seen little mention of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, but that could be simply because I've missed something written in support of our police. Maybe I didn't catch something that area media sources posted, or which was shared by local leaders in our community. If I did overlook anything, please, be sure to share it with us.
